Create a password reset disk
by Sayeed
If you forget your Windows password, you can use a password reset disk to create a new one. We recommend that you create a password reset disk when you create your password, so you don't lose access to your files and information. To complete these steps, you'll need removable media (a USB flash drive or floppy disk).
The steps to create a password reset disk are given below:
- Insert your removable media.
Now go to Start Menu and click Control Panel.
From Control Panel window click User Accounts and Family Safety.
Now click User Accounts.
In the left pane, click create a password reset disk, Make sure you store the password reset disk in a safe place.
From Forgotten Password Wizard click Next button.
Choose your removable disk and click Next button.
Now type Current user account password and click Next button.
When progress complete 100% then click Next button.
Completing forgotten password wizard window click Finish button
Go to your removable media and you will find a file named userkey PSW file.
Now your removable media is a password reset disk and you can use it as password reset disk.
